First night/day in KOREA!
The flight was about 14 hours long...with a stop at SFO airport.
My friend and I rode the plane together and arrived around 6 but didn't get out of the airport gates until 7ish. People/taxi drivers at the airport: very suspicious...they come up to you and ask you if you need a taxi or where you are going. We made plans ahead of time so we didn't need them to help but they insisted to help/take us...hmmm...
Anyway, we decided to stay at a hostel because we had no place to stay yet and it would be better for us so we can check in at our dormitory tomorrow. I told my friend, Monique, that we should ride the subway...and so we did... :]
So we ended up getting lost because of me (haha) but we eventually arrived 2 hours later to where we intended to go. We got to see a little bit more of Korea than expected on the first night here. On the subway where we got lost and went to Gimpo airport from Incheon airport, we saw a lot of land and the sun setting. While we were trying to find our way to the hostel, there were a lot of people looking as us...thinking "foreigners" (a hint was the large suitcases). We also received a lot of help from nice people; from giving directions to guiding us to our destinations to helping us carry our luggages up a flight of stairs.
There were also a lot of city lights from stores in the city that I cannot wait to explore. Here's a picture of a corner of some convenient stores I took while waiting for our transfer subway.
Looks fun and exciting, no?
See you tomorrow. :]
