So....it was a long day for the international students going to the Yonsei International Summer School since everyone had orientation(s). The first orientation we had to go to was the school-hosted orientation. It started at 10:30 in the Centennial Hall. They gave us a pretty nice folder.
Right after, I also had a UCEAP orientation to go to since I was part of the UCEAP program. Those who were in the program went to the New Millineum Hall GOT SO MUCH STUFF HERE! They gave us another folder, gifts, a shirt, cap, and we even got a lunch meal after it was over.
.......Folder from UCEAP.
Shirt given out by the program...
ANOTHER GIFT!!!!!
IT'S AN UMBRELLA for the rainy/humid-as-ever season that is about to start in July!
....I brought one of my own...and wished that I didn't now...
It had sushi, mochi, cookie biscuits, juice, fruit, and pasta! There was a lot of stuff and it tasted pretty good.
This was another gift....
...it's a charm! (I guess for the cellphones?)
It's really cute!
I also had another orientation in the afternoon...it was for the housing here at Yonsei...to go over rules and such. Pretty unnecessary because the speaker wasn't really thorough with the rules and there were only 50 seats available when there were over 200 people coming to the session...
Anyway, around dinnertime...Monique and I went to central Sinchon to look for a place to eat and explore the stores.
This is the East Gate path we took to go to central Sinchon from campus:
on our way to Sinchon...
Food and other stands...
We ate a a place that sold noodles or myun....
This was a corner of the table we were at...
...it's the name of the restaurant... the logo is branded on every table :]
The place had a lot of post-its in the restaurant. Each message was different and left by customers who've eaten there...
....post-its on one side of the wall...
The menu is also there too! .....the red ones are the noodles that are hot...and the blue ones are the noodles served cold.
This is what I ORDERED! FREAKING GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!! The waiter gave us a 'foreign menu'...haha because Korean wasn't on the menu...so I don't know what this is in Korean. It was 3,500 won...$2.50 US? ......and I noticed that the music being played after we sat down was all in English......that was kinda funny...
FOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDD!
We also went to
MEGABOX...it
was a 6 story
building with
shopping for
clothes, tents,
etc. and had a
movie theater
on the 5 -6 floor.
Anyway, after we went to MEGABOX...we were pretty tired and decided to head back home...
edit: so...we decided to head back home...and explored some more while at it... (in other words, i lead the way and Monique felt we were lost...but we really weren't...it was just a long detour...lol)
Hey Jenny!!!! Why the hell did you choose Korea????
ReplyDeleteAnyways I was their last month for lika day. You gotta try the bathhouses, Soju, and kimchied sushi. Take pictures of the Korean Air stewardesses for me =)
