SORRRRRRRRRYYYYYY guys for the late post but after getting back from the weekend field trip, a lot of stuff was going on (i.e. homework, dorm issues, etc) so I had to deal with that before being able to post up anything. I hope you enjoy!
So...here's what happened! So Friday morning we were suppose to meet up at the New Millenium Hall and check in to go. My roommate, Cindy, was nice enough to set her cell phone alarm for me to wake up in time because meet-up time was 6:30 am. I ended up sleeping through it and waking up at 6:47 am from the sunlight that was shining through our window. I suddenly got up and looked at her phone and was puzzled...I woke her up and asked her what happened...she said we probably slept through it and so I rushed down to the Hall to check in (I felt bad for waking her up...and I didn't get to brush my teeth). I was able to check in and then I went to brush my teeth.
This is when we were leaving Seoul...
and making our way to Gyeongju...where there are historical sites to see.
This was our first rest stop...
...the buses in white and pick were the buses we rode on for our field trip... there were three buses.
...the view outside while we were going on a freeway to Gyeongju.
...another view.
...people sleeping on the bus I rode... HAHAHAH!
...near Gyeongju!....
...driving through the area...
....FOOOOOOOOOOODDD... it was included with the trip...
...place where we had lunch at...This was the first place I decided to really try the meat (which was bulgogi) because I probably wouldn't have a chance to go there again and since it's paid by the field trip...might as well try it to add to my experience of Korea...
...a pond/lake-like area we drove by after lunch...
.........at our first destination! the Buddhist Temple in Gyeongju...
...pretty pond inside...
...NATURE....
...some deities guarding the area...
...this was a 'fountain' that had water coming from the mountains...I tried it and it tasted better than bottled water.
....Jenny likes this picture...
...this one too!
...this is it...
A HUGE DRUM...
...outside the temple-house...
...a Buddha statue...!
...another temple building...
....rocks, rocks, rocks...
...so these rocks were stacked by different people...people stack these rocks so that they can wish/pray for something to happen...the higher the stack of rocks is...the higher the chance of your wish would come true.
...rocks everywhere...
A peek at what's below....
...Tree sitting area...it was raining while we were there and so I had my umbrella out :]
...a large bell...
...a restricted territory that I managed to take a picture of :]
